My Journey to Location Independence & Financial Freedom 🌍

Hey there! 👋 I’m Seif, a 27-year-old Egyptian currently residing in the Netherlands 🇳🇱. My story isn’t about overnight success or millionaire yachts—at least not yet 😄—but about passion, hustle, and helping others along the way.

👨‍💻 Who Am I?

I work in IT and sales, and I’m also the proud founder of my own clothing brand, launched in October 2023. It’s called SeifWear, and it’s all about being exclusive, stylish, and still affordable—because you shouldn’t have to sell a kidney to look good! 🧥🔥

🇪🇬 Giving Back to My People

Besides building my digital empire, I’m also supporting more than 500 Egyptians in Egypt to learn Dutch 🇳🇱 for free through a WhatsApp channel. Why? Because it gives me energy, purpose, and because I believe in helping others rise too 🙌.

📚 My Dutch Course Is Coming!

Since it’s getting overwhelming to manage so many learners, I’m creating a full Dutch language course from A0 to A1. It’ll be accessible, fun, and affordable—never more than €100 and with a beautiful certificate at the end 🎓. The course will support multiple currencies (USD, EUR, EGP), making it worldwide accessible.

💼 My Quest for Remote Work

Meanwhile, I’m on the hunt for remote work as a freelancer (zzp’er) or self-employed IT or sales professional. I’m using platforms like LinkedIn, Indeed, and getting support from Gemeente Gooise Meren (my local government) to find the perfect match.

🌍 Why Location Independence Means Everything to Me

For me, location independence isn’t just about working from a beach with a coconut in one hand and a laptop in the other (though that does sound amazing 🍹💻). It’s about freedom of choice. The freedom to visit family in Egypt without asking for vacation days. The freedom to build businesses across borders. The freedom to live life on my terms — without being chained to an office or limited by geography. In a world where the internet connects us all, why should work keep us stuck in one place? That’s what I’m fighting for — and why this journey matters so much to me.

🌐 Top 5 Platforms for Remote Work

1. Upwork – One of the largest freelancing platforms globally, offering a vast array of job categories, including IT, sales, and more. Upwork provides tools for communication, project management, and secure payments, making it a go-to for freelancers seeking remote opportunities.
2. Toptal – A high-end platform connecting top freelancers with clients. Toptal’s rigorous screening process ensures that only the top 3% of talent are accepted, offering opportunities with leading companies for those who qualify.
3. Remote OK – A user-friendly job board focusing entirely on remote roles. It’s perfect for tech jobs, but you’ll also find marketing, customer support, and design gigs there.
4. FlexJobs – Offers a curated list of remote and flexible jobs across various industries. FlexJobs screens each job for legitimacy, providing a safe environment for job seekers.
5. We Work Remotely – A minimalistic site with great filters and some of the best job listings out there. If simplicity is your thing, this is your go-to.

🏁 The Beginning of My Adventure

This is just the beginning. I’m not financially free yet. I’m not location independent yet. But I’m on my way—and that’s what counts. Each step brings me closer to my goals. And each blog post is a little checkpoint on the map of this journey. 🗺️

So what’s next? Maybe a job offer from Google (hey, call me 😏), maybe launching five new courses, maybe selling out my fashion collection in three days… Who knows? What I do know is this:
